No haunted house this year

Boone Hall says it has discontinued Fright Nights, the haunted attraction it ran at the farm in past Octobers, to focus on family events. We found no other haunted house in Mount Pleasant for 2026. Organizers can send theirs through our contact page.

USS Yorktown Ghost Tour

The town’s tourism office describes the USS Yorktown Ghost Tour, run by Bulldog Tours, as the only nighttime ghost tour in Mount Pleasant. Guests board the carrier at Patriots Point, 40 Patriots Point Road, after the museum closes, walk passageways and sleeping quarters normally closed to the public and finish on the flight deck. The town calls it family-friendly, with the scares coming from the stories, not from actors. Book times and tickets through Bulldog Tours.

Halloween Night Climb

Charleston County Parks’ Halloween Night Climb is Friday, Oct. 30, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Outdoor Adventure Center in James Island County Park, 871 Riverland Drive, Charleston, across the harbor from Mount Pleasant. Entry is $10 with registration. The climbing walls get festive lighting and music; costumes are welcome if they can be worn safely with a harness, and all gear is provided.

Halloween on Shem Creek

Saltwater Cowboys, 130 Mill St., lists a Halloween event on its calendar for Saturday, Oct. 31, from 11 a.m. to 11:59 p.m., with DJs from 1 p.m. to close. Note that The Wreck of the Richard and Charlene, 106 Haddrell St., says it will be closed on Halloween.

  • Daylight saving time ends at 2 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 1, the morning after Halloween.
  • The town’s free trunk-or-treat is the night before Halloween, Friday, Oct. 30.
