Halloween is Saturday, Oct. 31, 2026. The Town of Mount Pleasant does not set official trick-or-treat hours: none appear on its website or its events calendar. Neighborhoods decide for themselves. If the town announces hours or street closures, we will add them here.

Updated Oct. 23: the town’s news page and calendar still list no trick-or-treat hours, and Trick or Treat on the Yorktown (Oct. 17) has passed. The Carolina Park Trunk or Treat is unchanged.

The town’s trunk-or-treat

The Carolina Park Trunk or Treat is the Town of Mount Pleasant’s own Halloween party, held every year on the last Friday of October. This year it is Friday, Oct. 30, from 4:30 to 7 p.m. at the Carolina Park Recreation Complex fields off Recreation Way, the town says. Expect trick-or-treating, a DJ, a photo booth and a petting zoo. Costumes are encouraged, and the concessions window sells food. The town notes that anyone attending agrees to be photographed for its social media.

Trick or treat on a carrier

Trick or Treat on the Yorktown, Patriots Point’s evening of candy stations, pumpkin painting and Halloween activities aboard the USS Yorktown, was Saturday, Oct. 17, and has passed for 2026. The museum lists it on its events page each fall.

Charleston County Parks holds its fun run and festival at Wannamaker County Park, 8888 University Blvd., North Charleston: Check-in opens at 9:30 a.m., the fun run, trick-or-treating and festival from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., and a costume contest at noon. Safety

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s Halloween food safety tips tell parents to:

  • keep children from eating anything that is not commercially wrapped
  • check wrapped treats for tears, pinholes or an unusual look, and throw away anything suspicious
  • read labels if a child has a food allergy

Daylight saving time ends the next morning, Sunday, Nov. 1, so Halloween night keeps its later sunset. A flashlight or reflective tape makes children easier for drivers to see.
