Father’s Day is Sunday, June 20, 2027. The Town of Mount Pleasant’s tourism office suggests spending it outdoors and on the water: fishing, golf, a paddle, a history lesson aboard the USS Yorktown, brunch and a brewery flight. Here is each one with real hours.

History at Patriots Point

Patriots Point Naval and Maritime Museum, 40 Patriots Point Road, is open daily, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; the ticket window closes at 4 p.m. Admission covers the aircraft carrier USS Yorktown, the destroyer USS Laffey, 27 aircraft, the Vietnam Experience and the Medal of Honor Museum. The museum says the Laffey is closed for maintenance, so check before you go.

Fishing

The Mount Pleasant Pier, 71 Harry Hallman Jr. Blvd., runs 1,250 feet into Charleston Harbor and is open 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. from April to September. Fishing is $7 a day for adults and $4 for children 12 and under, seniors and military; rods rent for $15 a day plus a $25 deposit. The pier is cashless and does not allow pets. Mount Pleasant’s three breweries sit close together off Long Point Road, in what the town calls its Brewery Hub.

The town says Two Blokes is family-friendly and dog-friendly and hosts food trucks, and that Hobcaw often has food trucks and live music.

Brunch

Restaurants with regular Sunday brunch include Tavern and Table on Shem Creek (10 a.m. to 2 p.m.), Community Table (10 a.m. to 3 p.m.), NICO (from 11 a.m.) and NEAT Bourbon Bar (11 a.m. to 3 p.m.), according to their websites. Hours and menus for each are in our brunch guide.

On the water

Coastal Expeditions rents kayaks and paddleboards and runs guided tours from its Shem Creek outpost. The county’s public boat landings at Shem Creek, 515 Mill St., and Remley’s Point, 80 Fifth Ave., are free, according to our parks and trails guide.
