Small Business Saturday, Nov. 28

The Saturday after Thanksgiving is the national day for shopping at independent stores. In Mount Pleasant that means the shops on Coleman Boulevard, in the Old Village around Pitt Street and in neighborhood centers such as I’On and Seaside Farms. Businesses that post a Small Business Saturday event can send it through our contact page and we will list it.

Parking and traffic

  • Lock the car. The Mount Pleasant Police Department’s parking lot safety page says more than half of vehicle break-ins in town are into unlocked cars, and that shopping centers are where they happen most. Keep bags, phones and purses out of sight.
  • Parade day, Sunday, Dec. 13: Coleman Boulevard closes from 4 p.m. for the Christmas Light Parade. If you are shopping on Coleman that afternoon, plan to leave early or use U.S. 17. Closure details are on our Christmas parade page.
  • Tree lighting night, Saturday, Nov. 21: Lights Up runs at Towne Centre, in front of Belk, from 6 to 8 p.m.
